Daddy's Arcade

Privacy

Daddy's Arcade is a small site of free games for young children, so the short version is this: we do not know who your child is, we do not want to know, and there is nothing here to sign up for. The longer version is below, in plain words.

No accounts, ever

There is no login, no sign-up, no email address to hand over and no profile. Nobody types a name, an age or a birthday into this site, because nothing on it asks.

No cookies from us

This site sets no cookies of its own. Nothing follows you from page to page, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Progress stays on your device

Some games remember how far a child got — which room they reached, how many leaves are in the pile. That is kept in your browser's localStorage on the device you played on. It never leaves that device, it is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not linked to a person. Clearing your browser's site data erases it, and a different phone or tablet starts fresh.

Counting visits, without cookies

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they look at. It is a cookieless measurement tool: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not build a profile or follow you to other sites. What it records is the sort of thing a web server log holds anyway — the page URL, the referring page, the country, and rough browser and device type — with no identifier that ties one visit to another. It tells us that a game was opened three hundred times last month. It cannot tell us who opened it. Cloudflare's own description is at cloudflare.com/web-analytics.

Adverts

Advertising is what pays for the hosting, and it is confined to the home page: the two slots above and below the list of games. There are no adverts of any kind inside a game, and nothing anywhere on this site can be bought.

As things stand today those two slots are empty placeholders — no advertising network has been added, so no third-party advertising code runs on this site and nothing is shared with an ad company. When an advertising network is added, this page must be updated to name it, link to its own privacy policy and say what it does with cookies and personalisation.

Children

The games are made for 3 to 7 year olds, and the site is built so that a child playing alone cannot give anything away: there is no text box, no upload, no chat, no way to reach another person and nothing to buy.

Getting in touch

The site is made by one parent making games for his own children. The code behind every page, including this one, is public: if you have a question about privacy, or want something looked at, open an issue at github.com/scottabraham/games and it will be read.
